Q:  Why do the neighborhoods that surround us use our name and logo?
A:  The neighborhoods around Jones Creek that use our logo were formed prior to us protecting the logo. The Jones Creek Planned Unit Development (PUD) is what we are legally defined as and simply does not include any of those surrounding areas. These neighborhoods were formed independently by other developers that chose to use the Jones Creek name (Jones Creek is a geographical location or entity and can't be trade marked, unlike the logo). The developers of Jones Creek either chose, or did not care to trademark the logo and either allowed its use or chose not to fight it legally when these other neighborhoods were formed. If this were to happen today, without a legal document that would allow the use of the logo, we would take legal action to prevent its use. We allow Jones Creek Golf Club to use the logo for exchange of goods, like the use of the parking lot, use of the clubhouse for annual meetings, etc.
